Making Balloon Balls

Juggling Trick  [1]  2  3

You will need:

Balloon balls are inexpensive, easy to make and very colourful to juggle! First, cut the stems off two balloons so that you are left with just the rounded top half of the balloons. Fill the plastic bag with a little rice.

Insert the bag containing the rice into one of the balloon tops. This is a bit tricky as you have to be careful not to split the bag or the balloon.

Take the second balloon and place it over the ball of rice, making sure that it covers the hole left by the first balloon. The hole left by the second balloon doesn't matter, since the first balloon shows through giving a nice two-colour effect.

The next step depends on how many colours you want or how fancy you would like your juggling balls to be. Take another balloon and in addition to cutting the stem off, cut out little pieces from the main part of the balloon.

When stretched over your ball, these cutout shapes allow the colours of the balloons underneath to show through. If you like, try a fourth or even a fifth balloon.

Handy Hint: It's worth getting good quality balloons as cheaper ones tend to split and often don't stretch as much, which means your juggling balls will end up being too small.
