Clever Cards

Magic Trick  1  2  3  4  [5]

Have a deck of cards shuffled and returned to you. Note the top and bottom cards as you spread through the deck. Pick out two cards (cards that match with the top and bottom) as predictins. For example, if the top and bottom cards are the 7 of spades and the 6 of hearts, you could pick out the 7 of clubs and the 6 of diamonds.

Holding the deck, start dealing the cards face down onto the table. Ask a volunteer to say stop. When he does, place the card that matches the bottom card (e.g. the 6 of diamonds) face up on the tabled cards and drop the rest of the cards in your hands face down on top of it.

Pick up the whole deck and start dealing down. Ask the volunteer to tell you when to stop. When he does, place the second card face up on the tabled cards again dropping the rest from your hand on top of it.

Now spread the deck on the table until you see the two face up predictions. Remove them and the face down cards on top of each. Turn over these two cards to reveal that they match.

Phew. A long explanation, but try it - it's easy to do, but it will baffle your audience!
